Each candidate enrolled in the Degree Programmes that has obtained less than 12 points in the TOLC-E or in the English TOLC-E and at the same time less than 4 points in the Mathematics questions will have to carry out some additional activities defined as Additional Educational Requirements (OFA).Ogni Candidato immatricolato in uno dei Corsi di laurea e che abbia partecipato ai Concorsi del secondo periodo di Concorso con un punteggio del TOLC-E o un punteggio dell’English TOLC-E inferiore complessivamente a 12 punti e congiuntamente con un punteggio inferiore a 4 punti nelle domande in Matematica/Mathematics sarà soggetto all’obbligo di svolgere alcune attività supplementari definite come Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi (OFA)

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present the preliminary mathematical tools necessary to attend the quantitative courses of the Degree Programme.
L'insegnamento si propone di presentare gli strumenti matematici preliminari necessari per seguire i corsi di carattere quantitativo del Corso di Laurea.

Results of learning outcomes
The course allows students to acquire basic knowledge of the preliminary mathematical tools necessary to attend the quantitative courses of the Degree Programme. In particular, at the end of the course, the student is expected to be capable of:
- knowing the techniques and the preliminary mathematical tools commonly used in the quantitative courses;
- using such techniques and tools to formalize and solve simple problems;
- being able to communicate the results obtained using a clear and appropriate mathematical notation and language.
L'insegnamento consente di acquisire la capacità di utilizzare le tecniche matematiche preliminari per seguire i corsi di carattere quantitativo del Corso di Laurea. In particolare, al termine del corso, lo studente deve essere in grado di:
- riconoscere le tecniche e gli strumenti matematici preliminari utilizzati comunemente nei corsi di carattere quantitativo;
- utilizzare tali techniche e strumenti per la formalizzazione di semplici problemi e la loro soluzione;
- comunicare i risultati ottenuti utilizzando una notazione matematica ed un linguaggio chiari e appropriati.

The course is formed by video-lectures available on the Moodle platform, and by online consultations.
L'insegnamento è costituito da videolezioni disponibili su Moodle, e da ricevimenti svolti online.

Learning assessment methods
The exam consists in an online-remote quiz through the Moodle platform, that lasts 45 minutes and consists of 10 multiple-choice questions. In order to fulfill the OFA requirements it is necessary to give at least 6 correct answers.
L'esame è costituito da un quiz erogato a distanza attraverso la piattaforma Moodle, della durata di 45 minuti, costituito da 10 domande a risposta multipla. Per assolvere agli OFA occorre rispondere correttamente ad almeno 6 domande.
